Is there a manual for a family history class or has this been discontinued ?

There is a family history class for institute – is that what you're looking for?

There isn't a family history curriculum for Sunday School anymore – it was removed from "Instructions for Curriculum" starting in 2016.

Thanks for your reply. As HPGL I am looking for ways to encourage ward members to do FH. Any suggestions?

I find that the best way to get people going is for them to receive one-on-one help from family history consultants. Big classes and exhortations from the pulpit rarely have as much effect as personal help where the member can do real hands-on work. When members have personal experiences, they can feel the Spirit of Elijah, which will help sustain them in their ongoing family history efforts.

The pattern for doing this was explained by Elder Cook in 2015 and is called "Find-Take-Teach". Here are some links:
