Issues with setting up kids' LDS account

#1

Post by ryanteeples »

Want to get my 12yo son access to LDS account for family history stuff.

1. went to register account
2. Told me to have a text sent to give him adult permissions
3. Got the text, entered the number, says not valid
4. Repeated the steps above with 3 different validation codes, never works
5. Now, tried again to set up the account and get "Either the MRN and/or Birth Date is not valid or the account already exists."
6. When I try " recover" options it says the account doesn't exist.

No place for help, clerk hasn't helped. Looking for advice where to go. This shouldn't be this hard.

Any ideas?

You clerk will probably need to call the Global Service Center on your behalf.

Hi,
I would also like this issue resolved. I have five young women that are 12 who I have encouraged to create an lds account so that they can use the personal progress online, as well as for family history at future activities. The girls also get the verification code via text or email but when the code is put in they are told it isn't valid. I would love to have this glitch fixed, if possible.

The best thing to do is not use the text or email verification at all. If neither of those is supplied, the parent is subsequently asked to authenticate with their own information. I wish that the flow made that option more clear.
