Two weeks ago our stake did some boundary changes for all of the wards, and dissolved 2 wards. Problem is one of the those wards had some checks outstanding that need voided, funds set aside for a specific person to go on a mission, and a few other things. Unfortunately for this ward, they did not get a chance to resolve these problems prior to their ward being dissolved. Now those funds are stuck in limbo. How do we get those funds reassigned to the new ward when the old ward no longer exists? I assume that a phone call to Church HQ can set some of this right, but I need to know what to do.
I am the stake technology specialist, and these sort of things have a tendency to fall onto my lap to "clean up". Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you

That would be the best course of action. Ask for Local Unit Support and explain the situation.rl_albright wrote:I assume that a phone call to Church HQ can set some of this right, but I need to know what to do.
I'd think the stake clerk would be able to handle some transactions to close out the old ward, but I'm not entirely sure how it works.

Send a message through MLS. They should be able to help.

Re: Dissolved wards, funds stuck in limbo
I spoke to the stake finance clerk, I was brought into this situation late, and everything has since been resolved. The new unit was just not yet informed. Some days, some callings, feel like I am herding cats. (And I wish I was referring to the primary.)
