I've posted three technical part-time Church Service Mission opportunites on the Church's service mission website today. They require 8-32 hours a week. These are in response to a growing workload the Church has in our product management team to evaluate, maintain, and market personal technology products for Church employees and local unit leaders. These missionaries will work very closely with some great product managers as well as other Church employees and Chruch leaders. I personally believe each of these service missions will be spiritually rewarding as well as personally satisfying.

These service missions include: Personal Technology Specialist, Technology Marketing Specialist, and Website Specialist. The description of these missions are attached to this thread as well as on the website listed above.

Please let me know if you have any interest or know someone who does!

Is it possible to do it totally remote? It might be better to widen your net. I imagine technical service missionaries aren't too common.

I'm looking into the possibility of requesting some of this product management work to be done remotely, but we are not quite ready for this yet. I am glad and grateful to see that there is interest for this!

Agreed. Many are willing to serve with these skills but travel to SLC is a barrier.

One more question. The descriptions mention 8-32 hours per week. What determines how much time you spend? Is it per project or do you ask for a time commitment upfront? I know some people aren't retired but spending 8 hours per week might be doable but more than that might be hard for those with regular jobs and families.

I guess that was two questions...

Since we would be happy to have anyone serve, the range of 8-32 hours is used. We have enough work for more than 32 hours a week, but we'll take what people can give with their schedules, other committments, etc. So when I discuss this position with those interested we'll discuss that element upfront.

I have some interest too, but I live in Brazil, and can't go to SLC always (in truth, I never travel to outside my country).

Me and my wife are interested, however traveling to SLC is a bit of concern for us here in the Philippines.

I would be extremely interested in serving as the Personal Technology Specialist. I live in Draper, UT and can easily travel to the COB daily.
