Recording non-LDS spouse

One step of the annual membership audit is to review a list of single adults, and identify those who are actually married. In some cases, I can identify members who are married by examining public records. In some cases, I can even identify the names of those spouses. I can rarely discover the birth dates, birth places, and maiden names of those spouses.
LCR is now requiring full names and birth dates of non-LDS spouses, so I don't know what to do. I don't have enough information to record the spouse, but if I don't record the spouse, I have an outstanding exception on my membership audit.
