FHC Application Finder

#1

Post by rick.winterton »

I used to be able to install various software packages using the FHC Application Finder. Now, on *all* of the FHC computers in my stake, when I launch that, the first screen says "This install is ONLY for official Family History Centers sponsored by FamilySearch. Continue?". I click "OK" and an error box pops up with the message, "Tivoli is not installed and is a requirement. Exiting." I know Tivoli was installed at one time (BES Client and BES Client Helper are both running).

Can any one enlighten me as to what's going on?

Sometimes it is necessary to reinstall Tivoli. I had this same problem on a brand new FHC imaged computer.
Go to this link https://familysearch.org/remote/centers.html and download the latest version.

I reinstalled Tivoli from the link (tried on two computers), and the problem did not go away. I'll call the help desk.

Are these computers at a FHC with a 10.x.x.x IP address? I'm wondering if it's testing to see if the computer is on the church's VPN network.

No, I haven't. It's on my TO DO list to call the GSD.

I have a similar issue if anyone finds the solution. When I logon as administrator, I can use all of the premium sites, but if I logon as the Patron user, it gives me the error message that "Tivoli is not installed....". Any ideas?

Since generally applications must be installed while logged in as administrator, I'm not sure as this is a problem. Patrons should not be installing things on the FHC computer.

When logged in as a Patron, they should be able to access the premium sites. I think jabastow is saying that this isn't happening. He doesn't mention anything about installing programs.
