LDS Remote Access in chapels

#1

Post by russchar »

I have been unable to use the LDS Remote Access VPN in chapels using the wireless access point. This has occurred in multiple chapels. Is this symptomatic of an improperly configured firewall or is it the normal?

The same device being used in multiple chapels? If yes, your device isn't configured correctly.

Apparently I was not clear enough in my query. I am asking about the configuration of the firewall, not of the laptop attempting the VPN connection. I have tested with multiple laptop computers. Each is able to successfully make the VPN connection using other networks, just not using the wireless access point in the chapel. If I am not yet sufficiently clear, please let me know and I'll provide more detail.

It may be normal. I vaguely remember trying to do some work at the chapel once and ended up having to use a hot spot rather than the chapel wireless network.

Note: This is talking about access to the Church's internal VPN (employees, church service missionaries, etc.), not normal member-facing technology.
