Adding additional AP's. Compatibility?

#1

Post by mprusse »

In some of our older, cinder block buildings, we really need additional AP's installed. I have access to several from my work they are disposing of and I'd like to know if they would be compatible in our building. The model from work is AIR-LAP1142N-A-K9. The ones in our building are AIR-LAP1041N-A-K9. I might be able to look this up but I don't know the controller model in our building for these currently existing units. All that I know is that we have an 881W firewall but that's the router model, not the controller.

Thank you!

No. Those Access Points are not supported. Even if they could connect to one of our controllers and work properly, they would not show up on tm.lds.org and you wouldn't be able to control them. And, if anything happened to them, the GSC couldn't and wouldn't support them.

All access points should be purchased through your Facilities Management group.
