Copy and Paste Events

I was the Asst. Stk Clerk for many months until I stumbled across the ability to copy and paste events. Today I'm trying to copy an event I just created because it will repeat again on another day next year. Strangely, among the 4 different events listed on that day, when I right-click on the event I want to copy, the option to Copy is grayed out, but right-clicking on another event below it shows the option to Copy Event. I went throughout the calendar and found several that allow Copying and others that don't. Can anyone explain this?

Here's a partial explanation. The events that wouldn't copy were events that weren't assigned to one of the Calendars, other than the main Building Calendar. Ours is set up that when you select a calendar, it shows the a calendar for the three buildings in the Stake. Then below that there is a list of other calendars that were created such as Stake Young Women, and Stake Cultural Arts, etc. The events assigned to Stake Young Women, for example, I could Copy and Paste.
