Recording death of member in LCR?
Is it possible to record the death of a member or non-member spouse in LCR? I could not find any way to to that and my search here as not revealed the process. Is this something that still must be done in MLS? Fortunately, we don't have to do it very often but in cleaning up our ward membership record we are finding a few long term inactive members who have died and their records have not been updated.

Thanks. I believe we've been told that eventually MLS will be deprecated. The ability to mark a person as deceased will surely be needed in LCR before that can happen.

Re: Recording death of member in LCR?
I have learned that a young woman in my former ward has died. I notified that ward clerk who said her name was no longer with the ward (she had been inactive for years). My current ward clerk and stake leaders have not been able to help me know who to notify. I don't know if she had had her name removed and her sister who has also been inactive are the only members of the family in the church. Who can I give this death information to?

If a clerk had her full name, birth date, and death date, he could send this information to the membership folks using MLS, even if he doesn't have her records.

It has been a long time since the last post so it might be accurate to ask this question again. Just in case LCR was updated, it is possible now to record the death of a member on the website?
