Creating a record for an over 9 yr old person that has not been baptized due to not being accountable.

Help please,

We have a ward family that wants to have their adopted son sealed to them. The son is an adult but is severely handicapped (both physical and mental) and has not been baptized.

When we attempt to create a child of record we are not allowed since he is over 9 years old. We are also unable to create a convert record for him.

Any thoughts on how we can get this record created?

A record can be created for the not accountable because of intellectual disabilities child by contacting headquarters. You can either send a special request through MLS or call the global service center (GSC) to have the record created.

Once the record has been created, the bishop and stake president will follow the instructions in Handbook 1, 3.6.2, and will be completed the same as for an adopted male child 11 years old or younger.
