Erasing hard drives

So I see a new tool, PartedMagic, on one page of the MHTech site although DBAN is still listed on another page. I assume PartedMagic is the preferred tool? Any experiences with it?

Trying PartedMagic. The options I get do not match the instructions on mhtech though, but I think I figured it out.

Here's a pic of the main screen. I assume I pick the last option, Internal Secure Erase? I then get an option to use Enhanced Secure Erase -- I assume I should select that too?

The standard option will write zeros to the entire disk. This is acceptable for our needs. It would take an FBI or NSA lab to recover what data they could. The 'enhanced' method uses multiple passes in a way that would be nearly impossible for a lab of any caliber to recover anything useable. It takes quite a bit longer to run compared to the standard method and is really not necessary.

Thanks. Before I saw this I actually ran one round of each, and they actually took almost the exact same time.
