Creating MLS Unit-to-Unit Address Book
I am an assistant clerk in a new stake, and I am creating the MLS unit-to-unit address book on the stake computer. I have no difficulty except with units where the unit designation in the "Address" field contains a word in parentheses, such as (Spanish) or (YSA). In these cases, no matter what I enter in the "Name" field, I get an error message saying that the recipient name is invalid. I had a similar problem several years ago as an assistant clerk in another stake, and I seem to recall that we resolved it by removing the parenthetical designation. However, the "Address" field is automatically populated, and it is locked, so I cannot edit it. Any suggestions?

Try having the ward clerk edit it in the first menu of MLS. If that doesn't work you probably need to go to CDOL to edit it. Likely it will have to be the clerk doing it.(might have to be ward clerk) Enter the unit number into the search to get the ward up. You can probably edit the address there.
If that doesn't work call church headquarters and have them change it.

Thanks for your suggestions. As it turns out, the address field is not editable, either in the ward MLS or in the CDOL, so I have created a case with LUS. They told me it would take two or three days to resolve it, but it has been a week, so I will touch base with them again.
