Membership number problems

#1

Post by M.Maloney »

I think I am in the right place to post this, so really sorry if I am not. I am having trouble with my membership number. I have this account but my number is not connected to it. Whenever I try to connect it, it says that the number is either wrong or already has an account associated with it. I know the number isn't wrong because I have my temple recommend right here. I do however, remember that my yw leaders from years ago set up accounts for us and I am guessing that is the problem. I don't know the username or password to that account and I would really like to have my number attached to this account. Anyone know what I should do?

It sounds like you probably do have another account. But don't discount the possibility that your membership number was written incorrectly on your recommend.

But you should probably try to recover your old account first. Go to https://ldsaccount.lds.org and select the 'Lost user' link. Select the Membership Record Number option and then use your membership number and birth date to try to find the old account. If you find it you should then be able to recover or reset the password (I haven't been through that process so I'm not sure of the details).

If you can't find an old account then you should check with your ward clerk to make sure you have the correct membership number and to make sure your birth date is recorded correctly on your record.
