Windows XP updates on Ward Computers

#1

Post by pricer »

Now that our Stake and Ward computers will have access to the internet, I now wonder about Microsoft updates to the Ward and Stake computers. Is the updates controlled by the Desktop 5.5 installation? Have anybody heard if Service Pack 3 for XP will be pushed down to church computers?
I never worried much about security issues with the send and receive under MLS using the modems and current anti-virus software installed.

XP SP3 hasn't undergone formal testing. I'm not sure what the status of updates are.

Keep in mind that there are a number of updates outside of WIndows that also needs to happen. I use http://secunia.com at home and at work to check my machines. Run "Scan Online" from the bar on the left. If you're typical, you'll probably discover you have vulnerable copies of Flash Player, Adobe Reader Quick Time and Java.
