way back when, when you used to send records out with very little knowledge of where they are, you could at least write some kind of notation.
for example;
i happen to know the State where they are, but nothing further. wouldn't SLC want that information?

That was removed in LCR 3.1. I don't know the specific reasons behind why it was removed, but I do know that we were asked to remove it.

I'm not sure as the information would be useful. You can't move it to a unit based on that. And if there's a question of distinguishing between two people by state - there's good odds that there's someone else of that name in that state.
