boundary realignment proposal language overlay problem
MLS is directing me to LDS.org for proposed boundaries. However, I cannot see the Spanish units there. I can only see the English units. I have placed all the geo codes in MLS in order to look at realigning the units. Previously I was able to look at proposed units in MLS with statistics. Additionally, the number of households per unit is dramatically less on the web based application. Probably due to addresses that have not been validated. In one ward the difference is over 200 members..
Any help is appreciated.

You need to get all the addresses mapped. Unmapped household will not appear. The new system works on location. Geo codes are no longer used for boundary alignments.

Agreed but what about the language based units that are overlayed?

Re: boundary realignment proposal language overlay problem
I assume you're looking to create a language ward - in which case some existing members will go to the language ward and "location mapping" isn't exactly the best way of determining the proposed unit.
You'd have to ask Local Unit Support during Utah working hours. I don't have access to bl.lds.org, so I'm not sure if there's any tools in there for dealing with that.

If you find anything out, that'd be great if you could post what worked for you to help others searching for a solution in the future.

The instruction on the new boundary site are pretty clear that the online system can only be used for conventional units, and only domestically.CreedPotter wrote:Agreed but what about the language based units that are overlayed?
Changes to overlay units still need to use the old paper form.
Statistics will have to be gathered using geo codes.

Re: boundary realignment proposal language overlay problem
Can you explain how I would use the geo codes to help with statistics because when I open MLS boundary proposal it kicks me to LDS.org. This prevents me from using the old system and from collecting the statistics. I can see the members of course and households that have been mapped but not the other vital information such as priesthood. Thanks!

Re: boundary realignment proposal language overlay problem
My best suggestion at this point is to call Local Unit support and ask them. We're mostly a community of clerks. It's possible that none of us has gone through this recently enough to have an answer.
