Stake Divided, Can't remove events

I am the Stake Tech Specialist; and Web Site Admin, and am configured as an Admin (by calling. Twice.)

Our Stake was recently divided. Some wards that used to be in the Stake Center are now assigned to other buildings. The previous Building Scheduler (who is now in the other stake) had created year-long room assignments for some of the wards who were not only relocated to other buildings, but are also now in another Stake.

The Stake Presidency would like to delete the events for those wards, since those wards now meet elsewhere, and they no longer use the building.

When I look at the events, I am unable to do anything with them. The "delete" button does not appear for those events (it does appear for events I created). Is it because those wards are now in another Stake that I can't delete their events? Any thoughts how we might proceed?

You cannot delete those events because you do not have rights to those ward calendars. You never had rights to those calendars - even as a stake admin - even before the split.

To be able to edit those events, you need to become a Building Scheduler. A Building Scheduler has rights over all events taking place at that location. Since you are a stake admin, you can give yourself that right. (Assuming your stake is the Agent Stake of that location.)

However, as a suggestion, I'd ask the wards to move their events. To simply delete them is to wipe their calendar. They probably want to reschedule those events.

Thanks for your quick reply. I added myself as the "building scheduler, and now have access. I will see if we can contact those wards and have them remove their events.
