Donation error

Donation error
A member filled out a donation receipt and wrote a check for $5000.00 instead of $500.00, not noting the difference until the check cleared their bank (the error was noted by the donor's spouse). Is there any way to correct this, and if not what options can be offered to the donor?

You can call local unit support on Monday, but I'm not sure as there is any option other then they won't need to pay tithing for awhile.

As russellhltn said, one way is to consider it an advance payment of tithing. With those numbers, however, it would be best to call Local Unit Support.
