Hello,
Please advise as to stock certificate donations to the Church as a form of tithing. I had a member ask me about it and was told by another member that the asking member would need to first obtain permission from the stake president and then from Church HQ. Is there a threshold amount or other qualifying factors required?
Thank you.
Stock certificate donation as tithing instead of post-taxed cash/check?

These donations in kind are handled by Church HQ and others here can probably provide a phone number for members to contact the proper help there. I was never aware that you need permission from local leaders and I doubt this is required.

See the help center article on Other Donation Methods. There is no mention of needing permission from the stake president.
