I don't know if this is the right forum for this but it'd be nice if members could see their home or visiting teaching companion and families when they log in to lds.org.

The move from MLS to on-line was done specifically without adding any features. We have no idea what features may be added at a future date as other higher priorities are taken care of. But we've been told that self-reporting is unlikely.

Right. I was thinking more so the companionships could view their families. That way if there are any changes we don't have to print and cut and distribute.

From what I understand, non-leaders seeing households they home teach has been submitted for approval by the developers and is likely to be implemented in a future version of the LDS Tools mobile app. However, non-leaders probably won't be given any access to Leader and Clerk Resources to see anything, and the LDS.org Directory hasn't had any significant updates for a while, so this may be an LDS Tools-only feature at first.

Distributing home teaching assignments with a personal invitation, whether by handing the person a piece of paper or sending them an email, gives the quorum/group leaders an opportunity to meet with the home teacher about any needs of the family they're being assigned, and it gives the potential home teacher an opportunity to accept or refuse the assignment, which leads to stronger commitment and efficiency by not having to continually follow up with those who don't want to be home teachers.
