Tithing records after marriage split

#1

Post by jeffmills »

A sister in my unit is requesting to have her portion of tithing and fast offering donations attributed to her for tax purposes. Her husband left her earlier this year and all donations up to then were made in his name with a single check. She gave me a list of months and what her portions of the tithing and fast offerings were.

Is there a way in MLS to split a donation up like that? Is it even legal to do it?

I also don't think they are officially divorced yet.

Are there any protocols for what to do in this situation?

I'd call local unit support. The technical issue is one thing, but the legal issue is another.
