VidiU software

Am I missing something or is the system really set up so that anybody who downloads the app onto their smartphone has 100% control over the device and can start/stop any conference broadcasts on a whim? Is security through obscurity really the only security on these devices during a conference webcast?

Even without a password, if WiFi is turned off, there is little chance of this happening. Though now that you mention it, I'm going to go lock it down on mine.
