There is an article at the Help Center. Record a Deathdavidjohnrichardson wrote:How do I Record a Death on my ward records
You have to do it in MLS. You cannot yet do it in LCR.

Hi, I'm also wondering how to do this. The link above is broken and I've looked all over MLS with no luck.

The link is working for me. You have to be logged in with lds.org and probably have to have an appropriate calling - such as ward clerk or membership clerk.brintonjay wrote:The link above is broken and I've looked all over MLS with no luck.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

The link works fine if you have a calling that authorizes changes to membership records. As folks are learning, many had access in MLS that was not intended and that they will not have in LCR.
In MLS:
Membership > Records > Death of Member
Type Name or select from list. Click OK.
Enter Date.
Click Close and Save.
Don't forget to Send/Receive.

If a member has been excommunicated is it necessary or possible to record their death?

It would be good to do. I'd either call CHQ, or use Special Request to let them know.zokybe wrote:If a member has been excommunicated is it necessary or possible to record their death?
