From this month's STS Newsletter:
As we approach general conference, we remind you to turn on and test equipment used for receiving general conference to ensure it is working properly.
If your unit has a satellite system, please turn your satellite receiver ON before general conference, and leave it on until two weeks after, to allow Church headquarters to push out an update.

Remember that General Conference begins on September 26th, and your FM will require several days to fix any problems you find.
