Spouse died 18 yrs ago

Hi Everyone;

there is a sister in our ward whose husband died "about" 18 yrs ago. she has since remarried. her mother also lives in our ward (who gave me this information). her mother said she doesn't know the exact death date, but that it was "about" 18 yrs ago. her daughter is completely inactive and joined the catholic church, and won't discuss things with her mother that she feels is information for our church records. what do you suggest? (this sister who remarried also has a son with her new husband).

Odds are he's in the Social Security Death index. Failing that, I'd check the obituaries. You can try FamilySearch.
