Fee for Returned Check paid by Church?

One of our members had a donation check returned. She is concerned that the church will be charged a "returned check fee"? If so she would like to cover this extra expense. Any thoughts?

I've processed many returned checks and have never seen any fee charged. It's possible that she might be charged a fee by her bank, but the Church won't be charged a fee by Zions Bank. So she doesn't need to worry about any costs to the Church.

In the UK any returned cheques are charged by the bank and the church covers the cost. It is a very rare event for those paying tithes and offerings and so the church doesn't worry about it.
I have known it to happen more often with YSA conventions and in those situations we have been asked to send the cheque back to the member, and ask them to make sure they have funds available when they send their cheque in again. There has never been a suggestion that the member pays the charge.
