Home Teaching Assignments in LCR

We have a family in our ward that was home taught by the elders quorum. Now we want to assign a new home teacher from the high priests group. The elders quorum unassigned the previous home teacher. Now the family shows up under the elders quorum's list of unassigned families but not under the high priest group's list. LCR won't let me assign a high priest to be the home teacher. Is this a design flaw? Shouldn't both the elders quorum and the high priests group be able to see all the unassigned families and assign a home teacher?

By default, home headed by a Elder show up on the Elder's side. Others show up on the HP side. It's still possible to assign them, just in a different screen.

How do I do that? I have tried every screen I can find that allows for the assignment of families to home teachers, but families that show up on the elders quorum list can only be assigned to elders, and families on the high priests list can only be assigned to high priests. Please advise.

I have a very similar predicament with members not visible to Elders Quorum. I found a partial solution by going to the High Priests Group area in Organization tab. Then selecting the family in the member list and selecting Elders Quorum when clicking on the Move button. Hopefully, this is helpful to the original poster. However, this only works with males. I can't determine how to do this for single sisters. Doing a similar action with Relief Society only brings up options in the Young Womens.

I'm sorry but this really doesn't solve my problem. I can move the family to the high priests group organization, but I still can't assign a high priest as the home teacher.

The organization the brother is a member of does not affect the assigned quorum for home teaching. However, you can assign any household to be home taught by any companionship. See this post for steps (and you may want to review the ensuing discussion for some background and additional explanations).

Thank you very much. That solved the problem - by going to the companionships tab I was able to assign the family, but it does seem odd that you can't assign a family directly from the households tab. Thanks again!
