Sabbath Day Powerpoint videos not playing

The imbedded video doesn't play, "quicktime unavailable" Tried to put it up on google drive but it won't play the .ppsx. Won't convert to another format because of the .ppsx. I have quicktime on the laptops we have tried. Any suggestions?

The file extension .ppsx is for PowerPoint 10/13. So I am guessing there is an imbedded video in that PowerPoint file presentation that is run from Quicktime. If that is correct then you need to have both PowerPoint 10/13, or the PowerPoint Viewer, and Quicktime installed on your computer to view the presentation and the Quicktime show in that presentation.

I received both the .ppsx files and the video files. If I ever needed to show them as intended, I would run both in separate windows, pause the video at the appropriate times, and switch over to the PowerPoint window. Since something went wrong with the linking/embedding of the videos in the .ppsx files, I think this is the only way you can show both, alternating between the two application windows.

I am looking forward to the priesthood leadership meeting in my next stake conference, because that is when my stake presidency wants to show these items to priesthood leaders. I am certain they haven't figured out the logistics of flipping between PowerPoint and Windows Media Player (or whatever). They are expecting the Stake Technology Specialist to just make that work. Unfortunately, they just released the STS (me), did not call a replacement, and I will be working at the temple that afternoon. I'm sure they will find someone to make it all work. If not, I already burned all the files to DVDs, one for each unit in the stake, so they can watch the videos later.

I have Office 2010 on one machine and Office 2013 on the other. I loaded quick time on both. Nada! I also tried Open Office and a couple of other generic presentation softwares. Goose egg! Tried a couple of converters and google drive says there is an error and the file is too big.

I was figuring that we would have to follow the procedure Dana outlined above. Switching back and forth is a drag but it will have to work.

Thanks for the imput.

For the record, I haven't had any problems with the presentations with embedded videos – works perfectly on the computer at church (Windows 7 / Office 2013) and at home (Yosemite / Office 2016).
