When a Ward or Stake Is Temporarily without a Computer
If a ward or stake is temporarily without a computer, it could use another ward’s or stake’s computer (with the stake president’s approval). In MLS, add the ward or stake (see System Options), log in to the newly added ward or stake, and restore its MLS database.

Adding ward's MLS to stake computer
One of the branch clerk computers is not working. I'm in the process of getting the computer fixed, but in the mean time the branch is unable to complete the membership audit. Can the ward complete the audit on the stake computer? I've read that wards can access their MLS via other church computers in the stake (see below)'. Has anyone ever done this before and be willing to provide some guidance. Thanks

Re: Adding ward's MLS to stake computer
Sure. Just follow the instructions you quoted. Login to the stake MLS, go to System Options, Add Unit. Then logout, choose the branch unit number you just added on the MLS login screen, and then restore the latest MLS backup from the branch. After you restore the MLS backup, you will need to do one send/receive to request a CUBS file, wait about 30 minutes, and do another send/receive to download the CUBS file.
Note: All of the above actions must be done by someone with MLS Administrator privileges on both the stake MLS and the branch MLS. If a single person does not have those privileges, you will need one person with stake admin privileges, and another person with branch admin privileges.
If you need help, call Local Unit Support.
