Deleting accidentally created membership record

#1

Post by Betacord360 »

I accidentally created the record of a child, made it the head of its own household, and made it the wrong gender....is there a way I can delete it myself, or do I need to contact SLC?

Did you create a duplicate record, or should there not be a record for the child?

I think you can fix this in MLS, perhaps by using the Special Request function.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

Yeah I created a duplicate name, but the gender is wrong and its the head of household instead of a child associated with its family.

Look in the Membership Records panel, click the More link, then the View and Update panel and (I think) another More link. Then under Other Record Changes, click Cancel Record. Select Duplicate Record for the reason.

Be sure to Save when you Close. Send/Receive, etc.
