Members being left off of home teaching household list

Post by pgetz87 »

While attempting to assign home teaching, I noticed that there is a discrepancy between the members listed in the home teaching section of lcr

and the primary ward member list

on the reports menu. All of our recent converts are not listed along with ~25 other individuals. I am in a YSA ward, so everyone is their own household and no possibility of an individual not being assigned a home teacher.

The unassigned single sisters and prospective elders are assigned to the high priests group by default. This is a known issue that is being reviewed. Until then, you will need to have a member of the bishopric or a clerk print a list of unassigned households for the high priests group.

Is there a timeline for a fix?

It will not be an immediate fix. As scgallafent said, the issue is being reviewed. Right now, the system works as it was designed. The review will determine if there should be a change to the design of the system. After that decision is made, then the programmers will be instructed to begin making any changes that come out of the review.

It seems evident that there are things that happen in the operation of a YSA ward or branch that are not easily handled by LCR, not only with home teaching and visiting teaching, but in other areas as well. Decisions still need to be made regarding how to accommodate those differences. Changes to the software will not begin until those decisions are made by priesthood leaders at Church headquarters.

Once the decisions are made, I would personally guess that HT and VT have a high enough priority that changes to the software would follow fairly soon afterward. But in the meantime, while the decisions are being considered and the software changes are being made, I would suggest you ask your ward clerk to help you with the list of households that do not show up and will need to be assigned. You will be able to see them once they are assigned to districts in your organization.

Another workaround, although it's not the easiest to view as a large list, is on the companionships tab, you can go into edit a companionship, click on add a teacher or assignment, and then click the drop down arrow. There you can select HP and unassigned, and see everyone you need to see, and assign them to be taught.
