Spouse record left behind when family transferred
A couple of years ago a less active member remarried and the new spouse's record was transferred to the ward. Unfortunately the membership clerk neglected to record the marriage or update the spouse's household status. A year later the family moved, and their records were transferred out of the ward; however, due to the omissions, the spouse's record remained behind. Now, a year later the new ward clerking staff after due dilligence has been unable to discover 1) where the family's records were transferred to or 2) what their new address is. Any ideas what we should do?

I believe that if your bishop contacts Local Unit Support and explains the situation they should be able to give him the name of the bishop where the family's records are currently. Then you can contact their current unit and provide the information you have so that they can pull the spouse's record and hopefully record the marriage.bamerrell wrote:A couple of years ago a less active member remarried and the new spouse's record was transferred to the ward. If you have the marriage information, you might want see if you can update the spouse's record. If that's successful, then use the special request feature to ask that the spouse be moved to the proper household.

The "Members Moved Out" report on Leader and Clerk Resources goes back one year, if it was within that time frame, and shows what ward they moved to:
