Create a Member Attendance / Contact Report for Bishopric

#1

Post by CWatsonJr »

Technically, I know I can import the ward list into Excel from MLS. I can create tabs that use the member list and marry that data with user input from the various rolls to create a report of members who have and have not attended their various meetings each month. I can also take the monthly home and visiting teaching reports to generate a list of members that haven't had contact for the month.

I think this report would be nice for the bishopric so they can more easily see trends where members would need better shepherding.

The only reason I haven't started the design phase of the Excel workbook is because we have been told that MLS will be phased out for membership.

So, my question is... Will membership information be completely removed from MLS where I will not be able to export data anymore or will that feature be added to LCS? I don't want to invest several hours of design only to have the workbook become obsolete in the next few months.

Thank you.

I don't think anybody here knows. But the trend has been to limit access to exports more and more. So there is probably a risk that it won't be available in the future. Personally I expect it will be made available but only to very limited callings. But even if it is there may be a gap between when it's no longer available in MLS and when it's available in LCR.
