stake Calendar questions

#1

Post by jdaldo00 »

I've added a member to have access to the stake calendar and she should be able to view, edit and update calendar but she is only able to view the calendar. I made sure she had the correct calling of stake scheduler building 1 and she appears as one of the administraters but at the far right column there is an x in a box vs the standard parenthesis that says default admin. What am I doing wrong?

That means she can be removed as an administrator. Default admins can't be removed.

A few things to check.
  • Make absolutely sure the name show is correct and someone hasn't called her daughter or sister instead.
  • Make sure she knows what to expect. Have her click on the calendar and see what comes up. Maybe she's expecting to see some new buttons.
  • Make sure she's logged in with her LDS Account. One time we tried to trace this down we found the user was using the husband's login because he had more rights.
There might also be some kind of time lag/refresh needed. Have her log out and back in.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

One other possible. You may have done everything right and the glitch in the calendar is getting you. I ran into it over a year ago. I added our building schedulers by name(since building scheduler is not a calling under the calendar function but is under MLS) to the default calendar admins which should have given them rights. That didn't work. The work around, that is a bit of a pain, is to add them to the individual calendars they can't edit.(by name of course) Apparently the default admin does work for any calendars created after they were added by name there so you should only have to fix existing calendars not future ones.

I have a similar issue with a ward calendar, we have a person that is called as the Ward Building Scheduler. She is logging in as her self, she has the right calling in MLS but she can not see the "Plus" sign in the top right hand corner to be able to schedule events.

Why does she not get the plus sign?

A "Ward Building Scheduler" is not a standard calling, and therefore no rights to edit calendars can possibly be conferred by someone having that calling. Even if it were a standard calling, then that calling has to be associated with one or more calendars as an editor (except for the small set of callings which make people default calendar administrators).

If you want her to be able to edit a calendar, then she needs to be added to the calendar as an editor, either by name or by virtue of a standard calling that she has.
