I would love to see some functionality like the LDS website where you can type in "1 Nephi 3:7" and it takes you there with highlights on it.

Thank you for your feature request. I've added it to our list of requested features. For now, know that you can go as far as "1 Nephi 3" already by using the quick search in the search pane.

There are some shortcuts in the app that will help you get to locations faster using search. The search has a 3 part search function. For example, if you type. 1 n 3 and before hitting enter, let it execute a lookup/goto search, it will return 1 Nephi 3 as an option (it doesn't yet support verses). If you want to get to D&C 88, type d 88, let it find the reference.

To perform a deep content search, type a keyword, like Faith, in the search box, then press enter, or click the search icon (magnifying glass). It will return references organize by book. If you click a search result item, it will navigate you to the content (but may not zoom to a specific location.) If you are "probing", that is unsure of which result you really want, try pinning the search pane by clicking the pin icon in the upper right corner of the search panel. This will keep the search results present as you "probe" for the exact result you are looking for.

The final search type is "find on page". If you type a keyword in the search box while view a block of content, it will highlight matching occurrences of the keyword within the content. This type of search is also initiated automatically when performing a deep content search. To remove the highlights from the page, simply clear the search box.

I hope these tips will help you take advantage of some of the great search features in the application. More functionality is on our roadmap, including verse level search. Please be patient as our team of volunteers works to add new functions to the application.
