Children not showing up on class rosters

#1

Post by sonett71 »

We have several children in our ward who are younger than baptism age and have parents that are not sealed to each other. None of these kids appear on any of the class rosters or primary lists. Is there a way to get them added? They all have records in MLS, but it seems that only the kids who are born in the covenant appear on any of the class/primary lists.

When you say they have records in MLS, where are you looking? If you pull down the list of individual records, do they appear there? If not, then there is no record. Appearing on the parent's record is only genealogical information. The child could be an adult living in another ward or even deceased and still be listed there.

Typically, children who have been blessed will have a record. But children of converts can fall through the cracks. The mission will record the children on the parent's record, but will not create records for them. That's the responsibility of the ward.
