outdated awards

So we are trying to clean out the clerks office and get rid of the outdated materials that are stored in there. and one thing we have found is that we have a number of old awards that the church no longer uses. IE the old Duty to God awards from back when they were medals you could pin on a shirt as well as the lapel and mothers pins that accompanied them. My question is what do we do with them? Do we just trash them but that seems like a waste. Is there an approved method of dealing with these?
