scriptures in audio lessons

#1

Post by 1historian-p40 »

I had a visually challenged sister express a concern about the lessons and I said I would look into this problem;
When listening to lessons on audio tapes as a visually impaired person, it would be nice if they read the text of the scripture not just quote its source. For example it is not easy to pause remove the tape, find the tape that has Leviticus, and then find the verse, listen to it and then take out the audio tape and reinsert the lesson. (Leviticus comes on 7 tapes)

Hi. We actually discussed whether or not to do this at one point. The problem was that there are so many scriptures referenced, that the lessons would become huge. We also felt that, since we will likely soon be moving to DAISY, which will make the switching of books and finding of a particular reference much simpler, that it would not be a good idea at this point.

Unfortunately, I have no idea when the transition to DAISY will take place. I'm as anxious as everyone else.

If you have any further questions on this, please feel free to post here or email me direct at cannonaw at ldschurch dot org.
