We recently had an excommunicated member move into our ward and they want to begin the path to re-baptism. The bishop has asked me to request the records to start the process but I don't know where to begin. Also do we add them to the MLS as a temporary non-member status to track their contact information?
Thanks,

Re: Excommunicated member
To request the minutes of the previous disciplinary council, you can (if you are the ward clerk) use Leader and Clerk Resources on LDS.org.pvtmathis wrote:We recently had an excommunicated member move into our ward and they want to begin the path to re-baptism. You need their permission to add them to MLS as a nonmember, but assuming they give that permission, that would be a good place to track their contact information. Of course, none of that will be available on any of the online tools, but just having it in MLS might be helpful.

Re: Excommunicated member
There is a family where the father is a member, the mother is excommunicated, and there are children who are members. The member father is moving out of the ward. The excommunicated mother and the children are staying in the ward. Is there a way to make the excommunicated mother the head of household and assign the children in her household?

You might be able to do it in MLS, but the on-line directory doesn't show non-members unless it's from the marriage record. But that's moving out of the ward.mattw1975 wrote:Is there a way to make the excommunicated mother the head of household and assign the children in her household?

Re: Excommunicated member
According to the help topic Make Changes to Member Households, "In certain cases the head of household may ... be ... a member child whose parents are not members." So that's one option, but of course it would seem pretty strange to other members who looked at this family on the Directory and saw the oldest child as head of household and the mother not listed at all.mattw1975 wrote:Is there a way to make the excommunicated mother the head of household and assign the children in her household?

You could try and call Local Unit Support. Some of the changes in the online system was to "hide" the fact someone was ex'd, so maybe they have a trick up their sleeve.
