Maiden Name of Children on Member Records

#1

Post by gordie-p40 »

I have a member that has five daughters. The last one just got married. For some reason, she is now listed with her married name of her father's record. Why is this so? The other four daughters are all listed with their maiden name. I've checked other member's records and all of their married daughters are listed with their maiden names. How do I fix this one record?

If the record is in your unit, you fix it by manually correcting it. Otherwise only the unit which currently has that record can correct it. You can communicate this to the parents and have them have their daughter pester that ward clerk to fix it. When the other ward clerk updates the record, the parents records will update automatically.

The daughter's record is correct. It lists her married and maiden names correctly.

Any other thoughts?

I'd suggest contacting CHQ.
