Secure Wiki to track stake tech info

#1

Post by mbgriffi »

Much of what I am doing as a new stake tech person is discovering all the account, setup, configuration that exists. Is there a secure wiki where this can be stored for our stake, that has permissions? If there isn't something from the church, consider this a request. :) are there other solutions people have tried?

There is no secure wiki at this point.

Personally, I don't see much benefit in all the work that would be required to set up such a site. There are very few people who need to see all those details for a particular stake. In fact, in my stake, I'm the only one who knows or needs to know the vast majority of those details, except as required for transitioning the information to my successor.

I have captured these details in a collection of documents, spreadsheets, and diagrams. The passwords have been given to my stake president, and the documents are available to the other stake clerks and the stake presidency (in case I become incapacitated in any way).

It would however be nice to have a central place for this documentation to be uploaded such as tm.lds.org. I think a simple wiki, or forum that allowed attachements within TM, would probably be helpful, and also give access of this information to Global Support incase the new STS did not get a chance to get trained up or if something fell through with where else you would normally store this data.

Currently I have resorted to creating a Google Drive account that I have given access to others in my stake. The key though would be to have something supported by the church and simple.
