Directory helps indicates that "website administrator" does not have rights to edit information on lds.org, but does indicate that "ward website administrator" does allow editing. MLS did not have a standard calling for "ward website administrator". Why would it not have it as a standard calling?

First of all, there is no standard calling for "ward website administrator"; the standard calling at the ward level is simply titled "website administrator." I'm guessing that the term "ward website administrator" was used imprecisely in an effort to distinguish it from "stake website administrator" in the other column of the table of administrators.

Second, you use the term "edit information" but the linked article makes it clear that there are two distinct types of editing that are possible: editing profile information (which is not available to website administrators), and editing photos (which is available to all kinds of administrators).

The bottom line is that a website administrator can edit photos, but there is nothing you can do to give a website administrator permission to edit profiles; that capability is reserved at the ward level for bishopric members and clerks.
