"LDS TOOLS" not working for a Not in unit Bishop

#1

Post by heavenboy »

A "not in unit record" was created for a new bishop in a Young Signal Adult Stake. The record shows his name, birth date, and member/record number. However, it does not show various ordinations like his baptism date, confirmation date, and endowed date.

The problem with LDS Tools is that when he selects a directory listing of the YSA stake, members of his home stake are display. Also, when he selects members in his YSA ward, and selects the ordination screen, the screen is blank.

Another observation is that in LDS Tools directory (with his log in), there are two entries for him. However, one will display his own ordination information and the other will not.

Does anyone know what might be the problem and how to fix it?

Thank you,

Was the out of unit record created following these procedures? Ordinance information from the member's IOS needs to be entered in the out of unit member record for brethren called to an out of unit leadership position.

While the bishop position can be entered into the local unit MLS, it does not give that position any rights. The bishop calling is a tier 1 calling that must be created using a leader and unit change request (LUCR) submitted through stake MLS. This calling change must be manually approved at headquarters and therefore may take a few days. Once the calling is approved then the new bishop will have the appropriate accesses to include his service stake and service ward both online and in LDS Tools.
