Phone locks up when playing Gospel Library audio

I have a new Samsung Galaxy s5. When I play audio files using my Gospel Library app, my phone locks up. The audio continues to play, but it takes 5-10 minutes until I can get the screen to come up so that I can power the phone down or reset it. I really rely on listening to audio content. I would appreciate help to resolve this issue.
