USING ALTERNATE MLS INSTALLATION

Please how can I keep my alternate installation up to date since I cannot do send and receive with it

Alternate installations are not supported.

You didn't say where this alternate installation was installed, but by policy, MLS can not be installed on home computers or donated computers. You can read more in the Meetinghouse Technology Policy.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

As russellhltn said, it's not supported. See Running a second copy of MLS in adjacent room in church building for previous discussion on the subject. Much of the information you could get from an additional installation is available from Clerk Resources (http://clerk.lds.org). Many membership changes can be made there too.
