Ward Records Committee

Under the direction of the bishop, the clerk is responsible for all record-keeping in the ward. There are a lot of record-keepers in the ward:

Ward Clerks
Assistant Ward Clerks
Executive Secretaries
Elders Quorum Secretaries
Relief Society Secretaries
Sunday School Secretaries
Ward Historians
Ward Website Administrators

I am curious to get people's feedback on having regular meetings with the ward record-keepers as a Ward "Records Committee" led by the clerk to discuss ways to keep more accurate records and provide more meaningful reports to those who need them. I think there would be great power in discussing together record-keeping issues and challenges, and taking those things back to their presidencies, etc. to work together to have useful and complete records kept.

This is similar to the idea of how the Sunday School presidency is responsible (under the direction of the bishop) for all teaching in the ward and can hold training meetings with all teachers (incl. of quorums and Relief Societies).

Ideas? Has anyone put together an organized records committee before?

It's an interesting idea. It's clearly not a committee mentioned in the handbooks, but the ward clerk does have responsibility for coordinating training and instruction for all these people (HB 1, 13.4.2). I've never heard of that exact idea before, but whatever you call it, this could be a means for the ward clerk to fulfill his responsibility to train people with these record keeping callings.

And the list you provided, although rather long to start with, left off HPG secretary, YM secretary, YW secretary, and Primary secretary, so it really is quite the list of record keepers.
