Recovery Options when Registering

Church Account is the primary user account (user name and password) for accessing online Church resources. Church Account was formerly known as LDS Account. This forum is a space to discuss all things related to Church Accounts (registration, account recovery, user experience, vulnerabilities, etc.).

I am writing up some instructions for new members on how to register for an LDS account. What does the Recovery Options mean?

Once you have set up an LDS Account, the Recovery Options allow you to obtain your password or user name if you do not remember them.

Thank you. Will the person registering receive a confirmation notice before registering is complete? If so if they choose mobile phone will it be text then? It looks like you can choose both options - correct?
