Event affects only some classes
The way the events is set up, if I put the events in first, it will either affect All or None of the classes. Which means that if I put Ward Conference in as an event, it will replace even Primary lessons, which it shouldn't. If I put the event in after I put in the classes, it will mess up the order of the lessons. Not a very good set-up!

Re: Event affects only some classes
Events can be added at any time by an administrator. It can be done before a class is added or after a class is added.
You are correct that if there are no classes added before the events are added then there are only two options in selecting what classes the event affects - All or None. There is no way for the application to determine what classes the event will affect if none have been added. Therefore the only viable options are All or None. But if the classes are added before the events are added then the classes the event will affect can be selected because they exist and are available to be added to a list.
When a class is added after an event is added that will not affect the class then the event will have to be edited to exclude the class. If you are not an administrator you will need an administrator to edit the event for you. Now edit the class using the "Insert missing lessons" feature to insert missing lessons and reorder them.

How do you suggest it be programmed? Take into consideration that an administrator may not be the one adding the class. Also consider that it is unlikely that event administration will be given to organization presidency members.ldeaton wrote:Not a very good set-up!

Re: Event affects only some classes
We had this happen when someone added ward conference as an event and it wiped out our High Priests lesson entered for that day (ward conference doesn't actually affect our lesson that day).
The help guide says when adding an event, one can select which classes it affects. Would doing that accurately have avoided the problem?

Yes. An administrator can edit the event to identify which classes should be affected by the event. Once that is done with the High Priest class set to being not affected, then the class will have to be edited. Use the "Insert missing lessons" feature to restore the missing lesson.jimcrofts wrote:The help guide says when adding an event, one can select which classes it affects.
