zip codes on LDS.org
The USPS standard is 12345-1234, but LDS.org only shows 12345. Is the software able to handle the additional 4 digits if someone inputs them?

zip codes on LDS.org
When I was working as the ward/membership clerk for a single's ward I would look up every family's address and use the exact USPS address in MLS including the zip+4. As I recall, it carried over fine to the ward web site. Is this what you are referring to?
Additionally, by using this standard addressing as provided by USPS, ward lists, etc. always looked very uniform. No more addresses with "Street" and others with "St", some with periods and some without.
FYI, I also discovered that you only have to use the zip+4 (9 digit zip code) to locate a ward in the meetinghouse locator. This saves time not having to input an entire address.

The LUWS for our ward pulls the ZIP+4 from MLS just fine (that is if someone has made the effort to enter it into MLS in the first place).scion wrote:The USPS standard is 12345-1234, but LDS.org only shows 12345. Is the software able to handle the additional 4 digits if someone inputs them?
I also wholeheartedly endorse using USPS standardized addresses for MLS (for those within the U.S. of course).
Outside the U.S. it becomes a bit more difficult, but there some resources for standardizing addresses if you know where to look. Here are some examples I have come across (I am sure there are many others):
